The Fiddle Music of Donegal Volume 3

  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

The Fiddle Music of Donegal Volume 3
24 Track CD of recordings played By: Dermot McLaughlin, John Byrne, Derek McGinley,
Matthew McGranahan, Jimmy Campbell, Peter Campbell; along with a comprehensive booklet of information on the performers and tune notes.

This recording was made before live audiences during a series of concerts in the Tea Room Cottage in the Folk Village, Glencolmcille. The recordings took place in August of 1997 and 1999 in conjunction with the Donegal Fiddlers’ Summer School. By virtue of taking place in a cottage environment before a small but enthusiastic audience during a week of virtually non-stop fiddle playing these settings come as close as is possible for a concert to reflect the atmosphere of a house dance or session. There is a spontaneity and spirit in these performances which tends not to be captured in recording studios.
