    This recording was made before live audiences during a series of concerts in the Tea Room Cottage in the Folk Village, Glencolmcille. They took place on the evenings of August 4th, 5th & 6th , 1997 as part of the Donegal Fiddlers’ Summer School.

Neillidh Boyle was born in 1889 in Pennsylvania , USA, to immigrant parents.

The Boyle's returned home to Donegal by the time that Neillidh was 8 years old and set up home near Dungloe in northwest Donegal.

He came to be regarded as a fiddler of unheard of mastery among the fiddlers of Donegal.

Neillidh recorded for the Regal Zonophone label in the 1930's. He passed away in Glasgow in 1961 ... more
