    Since Danny's return home in 2007, Cairdeas na bhFidiléirí has made a number of recordings of Danny's playing, we are actively involved in archiving the music of Donegal's fiddle players and Danny has been very co-operative in this, as he sees the value of archive recordings. Selections from several recording sessions feature on this album. The majority of the recordings though on the album were recorded in the old Meehan house in Drimalost, where Danny's musical life began and where he feels so much at ease.

Neillidh Boyle was born in 1889 in Pennsylvania , USA, to immigrant parents.

The Boyle's returned home to Donegal by the time that Neillidh was 8 years old and set up home near Dungloe in northwest Donegal.

He came to be regarded as a fiddler of unheard of mastery among the fiddlers of Donegal.

Neillidh recorded for the Regal Zonophone label in the 1930's. He passed away in Glasgow in 1961 ... more
